BaltanestIC 2027
7-9 October | Riga, Latvia
President's Welcome

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to BaltAnestIC 2027 – the 14th International Baltic Congress of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine, taking place 7–9 October 2027 in Riga.
We gather at a defining moment for our profession. Advances in science and technology are transforming healthcare at an unprecedented pace. Artificial intelligence is beginning to reshape clinical practice and education, healthcare systems are facing growing demands, and workforce challenges continue to test our resilience. At the same time, expectations for patient safety, quality of care, and professional excellence have never been higher.
In this rapidly changing environment, anaesthesiology stands at the heart of modern healthcare. Our specialty connects perioperative medicine, intensive care, pain management, emergency preparedness, and patient safety. We are uniquely positioned not only to respond to change, but to lead it.
The theme of BaltAnestIC 2027 — Resilience. Innovation. Humanity. — reflects the values that define our profession.
- Resilience enables us to adapt and excel in challenging circumstances.
- Innovation drives progress through scientific discovery, technological advancement, and new models of care.
- Humanity reminds us that every decision we make ultimately serves the wellbeing of our patients and their families.
BaltAnestIC 2027
will bring together clinicians, researchers, educators, and trainees from across Europe and beyond to exchange knowledge, share experience, and explore the future of our specialty. Through high-quality scientific sessions, interactive workshops, expert debates, and networking opportunities, we will address some of the most important issues facing healthcare today, including patient safety, perioperative medicine, critical care, artificial intelligence, workforce sustainability, professional development, and environmental responsibility.
More than a scientific congress, BaltAnestIC is a community. It is a place where ideas become collaborations, where young professionals meet future mentors, and where lasting international partnerships are created. I particularly encourage residents and early-career colleagues to participate actively and contribute their perspectives to the discussions that will shape the future of anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine.
Riga, with its rich history, vibrant culture, and renowned hospitality, provides an ideal setting for this exchange of knowledge and experience. The congress will be hosted at Hanzas Perons, one of Riga's most distinctive event venues. A carefully restored historic railway warehouse transformed into a modern conference and cultural centre, Hanzas Perons combines industrial heritage with contemporary design. Its unique character, excellent facilities, and welcoming atmosphere provide an inspiring setting for scientific exchange, professional networking, and collaboration.
On behalf of the Organising Committee I warmly invite you to join us for BaltAnestIC 2027.
Together, let us learn from one another, inspire new ideas, and shape the future of our profession.
I look forward to welcoming you personally to Riga!
With warm regards,
